Brian Utley, one of the Puget Sound area’s leading window treatment authorities, is known for the exceptional personalized service he provides clients throughout the region.
He has 20 years experience helping thousands of homeowners in South Puget Sound area communities identify and invest in the window covering options that best meet their needs. He utilizes his product knowledge, industry expertise and talent for designing window fashions to help clients save time, money and headaches.
Brian, an award winning expert who specializes in product color, installation and controls, is the region’s go-to, full service resource for window treatment products and information. His client, who range from corporate executives to new, first time home buyers, use words like “great,” “excellent,” “courteous,” and “a pleasure to work with” to describe him.
Olympic Blinds is a family owned business and has grown into one of the region’s largest and longest-established full service window treatment firms. The company is the only independent, family-run firm in the area that provides such a wide variety of showroom and shop-at-home services, carries many product lines and offers large size samples of Hunter Douglas and Graber products.
Brian has extensive experience with and a thorough understanding of the finest blinds, shutters, shades, draperies and other window coverings. Widely known by his peers as the “king of shutters” Brian continues to personally consult with new clients on shutter requests. Olympic Blinds is the regional leader in market share for shutter sales and installation.
Furthermore, Brian was the first area professional to develop custom window packages for Jubilee Hawks Prairie in Lacey, the resort-style, active community for adults 55 and older. He has also won acclaim and several awards as an accessory supplier at the Olympic Master Builder tour of homes. He is the area’s only professional who has taken WCMA courses for the past 17 years on window covering design and color consultation at the annual conventions of the Window Covering Manufacturers Association.
Brian gained invaluable insights on components and maintenance by running a blind cleaning and repair business earlier in his career, and also by installing so many window coverings and draperies during Olympic’s early years. Clients today benefit from that expertise, and from the technical, problem-solving and people skills he acquired as a 30 year business owner. He studied business and engineering in college.
